Making every search count
Last updated: January 17, 2025
These Referral Program Terms ("Referral Terms") govern your participation in the Search'n Give Ambassador Referral Program ("Program"). By applying to become an Ambassador or using a referral code, you agree to be bound by these Referral Terms in addition to our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not participate in the Program.
The Ambassador Referral Program allows approved ambassadors to earn a revenue share by referring new users to Search'n Give. When referred users search using our service, ambassadors earn 20% of the revenue generated from those searches for a period of one year from the date of referral.
To become an Ambassador, you must: (a) be at least 18 years old; (b) have a valid Search'n Give account with a verified email address; (c) apply and be approved by Search'n Give; and (d) comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Search'n Give reserves the right to approve or deny any application at its sole discretion, without providing a reason.
Upon approval as an Ambassador, you will receive a unique referral code. You may customize this code subject to availability and our content guidelines. Your referral code must be 3-20 characters long and contain only letters and numbers.
Your referral link will be in the format: searchngive.org?ref=[YOUR_CODE]. When a new user signs up using your referral link, they become your referral.
Referrals are tracked through cookies and account creation. A user must create an account using your referral link to be counted as your referral. Anonymous users who do not create accounts cannot be tracked as referrals.
You earn 20% of the revenue generated from each referral's searches for exactly one year from the date they create their account using your referral link. After one year, the referral relationship expires and you no longer earn from that user's searches.
Ambassadors earn 20% of the net revenue generated from their referrals' searches. This percentage is subject to change at Search'n Give's discretion with 30 days' notice to active ambassadors.
Revenue is calculated based on the affiliate revenue Search'n Give receives from search engine partners (Bing, Yahoo, etc.) for searches performed by your referrals. Your 20% share is calculated from this affiliate revenue, not from the total advertising revenue generated.
Your dashboard displays estimated earnings based on tracked searches and expected revenue. These are good-faith estimates and may be adjusted based on actual payments received from our partners, fraud detection, or other factors.
Earnings must reach a minimum threshold of $10.00 USD before a payout can be processed. Earnings below this threshold will roll over to the next payment period.
Payments are processed quarterly. Due to payment processing timelines, there may be a delay of up to 60 days between when searches are performed and when referral payments can be processed.
Payments are currently made via PayPal. You must provide a valid PayPal email address in your account settings to receive payments. Search'n Give is not responsible for any fees charged by PayPal. We are working on adding additional banking methods in the future.
Payments may be delayed if: (a) we have not received payment from our affiliate partners; (b) we detect suspicious activity or potential fraud; (c) your PayPal information is invalid or incomplete; or (d) your account is under review.
You are solely responsible for any taxes owed on your referral earnings. Search'n Give will issue IRS Form 1099-MISC (or equivalent) if your annual earnings exceed $600 USD and you are a U.S. taxpayer. International ambassadors are responsible for complying with their local tax laws.
Search'n Give makes no guarantee regarding the amount of earnings you may receive. Earnings depend entirely on your referrals' search activity and the revenue generated from those searches.
You may not engage in any fraudulent, deceptive, or abusive practices, including but not limited to: (a) creating fake accounts; (b) using bots or automated systems to generate searches; (c) incentivizing users with cash or rewards to sign up; (d) misrepresenting the Program or Search'n Give; or (e) engaging in click fraud or search manipulation.
You may not send unsolicited emails, messages, or communications promoting your referral link. All marketing must comply with applicable anti-spam laws (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, etc.).
You may not bid on Search'n Give trademarks or brand terms in paid search campaigns, or use our trademarks in domain names without prior written permission.
You may not refer yourself or create multiple accounts to earn referral revenue. Each person may only have one Search'n Give account.
Search'n Give may suspend or terminate your Ambassador status and withhold payments if you violate these Referral Terms, our general Terms of Service, or engage in prohibited activities.
We reserve the right to investigate any suspicious activity. During an investigation, we may temporarily hold payments and suspend your account.
If your account is terminated for violations, you forfeit all unpaid earnings. Paid earnings will not be reclaimed unless obtained through fraud.
You may withdraw from the Program at any time. Upon withdrawal, you will receive any earned payments above the minimum threshold, and your referral relationships will be terminated.
Search'n Give may modify these Referral Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active ambassadors at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
Search'n Give reserves the right to terminate the entire Referral Program at any time without notice. In the event of termination, all ambassadors will receive their earned payments above the minimum threshold, subject to the standard payment schedule and any outstanding affiliate partner payments.
The 20% revenue share percentage may be modified with 30 days' notice to active ambassadors. Changes will not apply retroactively to existing referral relationships.
You will have access to anonymized data about your referrals, including search counts and earnings. You will not have access to personally identifiable information about your referrals.
You must comply with all applicable privacy laws when promoting your referral link, including obtaining necessary consents and providing required disclosures.
Participation in the Program does not create an employment, partnership, or agency relationship between you and Search'n Give. You are an independent contractor.
Applying to become an Ambassador does not guarantee approval. Search'n Give may deny applications for any reason.
Affiliate revenue varies based on search engine partner payments, ad rates, and other factors beyond our control. Earnings may fluctuate significantly from month to month.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Search'n Give from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your participation in the Program, your promotional activities, or your violation of these Referral Terms.
These Referral Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution provisions in our general Terms of Service.
